I don't even know where to begin when talking about how much we enjoyed working with Rebecca (and Luis, the contractor "par excellence"). She somehow manages to combine professionalism and personality into the perfect package, and the result is a renovation experience that is un-matched. We have carried out another renovation here in France, and there was NO comparison (really, no words can do this sentiment justice). From the careful detail to the budget, to the "welcome" items for my first night there, the experience was unrivaled. Rebecca, despite being a very talented expert, let me "do my thing" while simultaneously steering me in the right direction and helping me to create a home that I feel is reflection of my taste, but extra polished and chic, thanks to her skill. Rebecca was also an excellent and diplomatic intermediary between us and our syndic, our new neighbors, and the other artisans on our project. Her bilingualism was a necessary and welcomed asset for us, and she took on all the communication with grace and poise. Her knowledge about all things French also truly helped guide our decisions and gave us peace of mind with our choices. Last week when I arrived at our finished apartment, it was a feeling of utter joy, and a "too good to be true" moment. The only disappointing part is that my time with Rebecca and Luis has come to a close (which we will have to rectify with another project!). I am so honored to have worked with Rebecca, and know that anyone that works with her will also appreciate her energy, talent and enthusiasm

We enthusiastically echo all of the positive responses already posted here. All true. Working with Rebecca, the daunting prospect of renovating an apartment from across the ocean became an exciting and satisfying endeavor. She was a delight to work with, exuberant, positive, and approachable, and always a consummate professional. Her talent, skill and experience were apparent at every stage as she helped us negotiate the many challenges and surprises that are part of renovating an old structure, like strange plumbing and awkward spaces. She was unflagging in her energy and generous with her time, always going above and beyond in every situation, no matter how small, including helping to coordinate furniture deliveries since we had no local cell number. Rebecca has an impeccable design sense. She is sensitive to the unique characteristics of the specific property and to the ideas and taste of her clients. She truly listens and responds with great concepts and solutions. Her talent and dedication to detail is evident in everything from floor-plan to light fixtures. It was deeply reassuring to see that Rebecca remained totally dedicated to the project through to the very last details of completion – she was not finished until she was satisfied everything was perfect. Add to her individual strengths that Rebecca has cultivated a team of collaborators (contractor, tradespeople, assistants) who are also expert, dedicated, trustworthy, and meticulous. We cannot recommend Rebecca and her team highly enough.

She was absolutely the best architect that I ever worked with. Renovating an apartment in another continent could have been a disaster but it was a pleasant and exciting process throughout the entire time. All of her contractors were equally nice, and they did a wonderful job

It was a pleasure to work with Rebecca Newman and we highly recommend her as an architect. We worked with Rebecca for the renovation of our apartment in Paris. Rebecca is professional, creative, practical, respectful, and friendly to her clients, vendors, and contractors. She strikes a great balance between offering her opinion on esthetic choices but being non-judgmental and supportive with personal preferences. Rebecca is a strong communicator in English and French, which was helpful for us as we navigated to complexities of a renovation in a foreign language. She managed our budget well and proposed ideas and solutions as needed. For example, instead of having custom bedroom closets made, which would have exceeded our desired budget, Rebecca found a mid-range vendor. She visited the showroom and had a few samples prepared when I met her at the showroom. Similarly, Rebecca researched and contacted vendors for our countertops and tiles and proposed options in our style and budget. Furthermore, Rebecca has a strong relationship with the general contractor, which we felt was critical in this industry. Their track record together was reflected in a lack of surprises and schedule overruns, and a “no problems, only solutions” approach. We also felt it helped to ensure quality and accountability of the work. We are very happy with the outcome of our home, thank you, Rebecca!

When we began the process of designing a condo in north Scottsdale, I turned to Rebecca for help with space planning/allocation, room dimensions, flow, etc. Ours is a custom design within a new condominium building – we are combining three units – and so we must also work around some limitations. Because Rebecca is an architect, I knew she’d provide exactly the right perspective and expertise at that stage, which she did. Her input was invaluable. Now as we near completion, Rebecca will guide us in terms of interior design. We will be moving from a large territorial home to a contemporary condo, which is shifting gears quite a lot for us. She knows that we want to create a deeply personal space and understands our objectives, so is consulting on custom furniture design and placement, paint colors, and all decor from lighting fixtures to rugs. While she is located in Paris, we travel frequently and are often not in Arizona so I need someone whose taste I trust who is a great listener, communicator, and collaborator remotely. That is Rebecca! We are very pleased to be working with her.

Dear Rebecca, How lucky I feel to have searched up INTERFACE DESIGN when I was looking for an interior designer for our apartment in Paris. Although our apartment was small, your ideas have made it feel spacious. The result ,the colours and all your suggestions were perfect! After relocating to Paris from NYC about a year ago, I found an apartment I loved and quickly realized that, before moving in, I would need the kind of help and advice only a qualified architect could provide. I also knew that, for all sorts of reasons, I would feel most comfortable working with a native English speaker. An American real estate broker here in Paris recommended Rebecca Newman to me and, from our first phone exchange, I had no doubt she was a person with whom I could communicate and with whom I would enjoy working. Simply put, she was enthusiastic and delightful. On the professional side, I was very glad to have her on board. My apartment is in a 16th-century building and it was crucial to know precisely what could and could not be done in terms of renovation without compromising its structure: Would it be possible to cut a hole in the kitchen wall to create a nice open hatch into the living room? Answer: yes. What about making updates to the main bathroom with its rather outdated plumbing? Answer: Here’s what’s possible, here’s what is not. Rebecca also works with a very pleasant and competent team, she’s available to answer questions and generous with her time. Also very important, she listens to her client and does her best to implement that person’s wishes. For all of these reasons, I am happy to recommend Rebecca wholeheartedly.

Dear Rebecca, Calum and I would like to send our sincere thanks for the wonderful renovation work you and Bruno carried out on our little apartment in Montmartre. Attempting a full renovation when living on the other side of the world is extremely daunting, there needs to be a huge level of confidence and trust between the parties. You kept us informed at all stages of the project, and your weekly update presentations showed us the progress as if we were actually there. The finished product was beyond our expectations, and we appreciate your continued support as we further tweak and add to the apartment furnishings and decor. After having stayed in the apartment a number of times we have come to appreciate the thought that went into your planning of the project. The insulation in the external walls for example, which we would never have thought of, has made the apartment cool in summer and cosy in winter. Not only did she find every single piece of furniture and decor element for our Paris apartment, she put it all together perfectly. En mars 2010, nous avons eu le plaisir de faire appel au talent d'architecte d'intérieur de Rebecca Newman qui nous avait été chaleureusement recommandée par des amis. Apres avoir cherché longtemps l'appartement idéal nous permettant de jouir de tous les attraits de Paris et l'avoir trouvé près des Invalides, nous avons aussi découvert avec bonheur Rebecca Newman, la designer et décoratrice choisie par les promoteurs de notre immeuble. Nous avions aimé le style contemporain adopté pour meubler l'appartement modèle. Nous avons donc décidé de retenir ses services pour aménager un endroit que nous voulions joli, clair, agréable à vivre, facile à retrouver ou à quitter au gré de nos voyages. Ce fut une aventure des plus agréables de meubler ce nouvel appartement tout neuf. Rebecca et son équipe y ont donné une âme, en y apportant la touche française dont nous rêvions tout en conservant l'esprit moderne et le confort un peu américain que nous recherchions. Sa connaissance du milieu et son esprit pratique nous ont plus. Elle nous a déchargé de toutes les contraintes liées à l'aménagement d'un nouveau lieu et le résultat nous satisfait toujours autant avec l'usage. Quand nous y séjournons, nous retrouvons avec plaisir ses teintes claires, ses fauteuils confortables, les grandes fenêtres s'ouvrant sur Paris, la tour Eiffel et le bonheur de séjourner dans l'une des plus belles villes du monde.
